Duxford Images Finally Online

My weekend in Duxford earlier this year was a couple of days that will stay with me for a very, very long time.  The sounds, the smells and the sights were just amazing and you really had to be there to appreciate the event.

The sound of waves of spitfires and hurricanes launching themselves into the sky and then buzzing the airfield at low level was just incredible.  So much so, I even had to out the camera down from time to time to simply take in the spectacle in front of us.

The event was the museums ‘Battle of Britain Anniversary Air Show’ and the culmination of numerous similar events around the country in which we remembered and celebrated the hero’s of WW2 and the machines that were so important to the war effort.

I hope that some of my images above do the show justice.  I took just under 2,000 shots hoping to come away with a handful of keep shots.  After all, this was my first every try at air show photography and it was quite a learning curve that had to be surmounted very quickly.

Many of you have been asking about the results that i obtained fromthe air show.  I have struggled to narrow down my favourite images for my Flickr and 500px accounts and for that reason I have simply uploaded just under 200 of the images to a special gallery on www.m4photo.co.uk.

You can find the gallery here and I hope that you enjoy some images of the most beautiful aircraft that have graced our skies here in Europe.
